Just about anyone with Avgas in their veins!  We have had PPL students at WITS as young as 13 years old.

If you are considering a career in flying, you should start sooner rather than later.

Here are a couple of things to take into consideration when thinking about climbing into the cockput with your instructor:

Taking the first step toward a fun and rewarding aviation experience.

There are many things that you must commit to starting out in aviation. The most important being time. Typically, Student Pilots should try to schedule flight lessons two days a week for two hour time slots. Consistently coming to all of your lessons is important: Excessive time in between lessons leads to forgetting material, which leads to more rands spent on lessons in the long run. It is also expected that a student will attend ground school (and spend their own time studying material at home between lessons).

The cost of attaining a Pilot License can vary greatly from person to person. A minimum of 45 hours is required for a PPL in SA, but some people may need as many as 70 hours before they are ready for their proficiency examination.
