Airplane hire cost are on a per hour basis as measured on the airplane hobbs/tacho.

Airplane hire cost must be paid in full either in advance using a deposit or can be paid after the flight by cash, cheq or internet banking (EFT).

The cost of instruction is currently R 200.00 per hour. For information on other instruction costs - turbine, etc - .
Lanseria ATNS Fees
Landing Fee (Training Fee at Lanseria) = R22-00 per set of 5

Courses / Licenses - Private Pilot License (PPL)
The exact cost will depend on a number of factors.
At present (March 2010), the aircraft hire of a Cessna 172, instruction, landing and approach fees, excess insurance, books, lectures, exams and club membership will cost you approximately R 70,000.00 including VAT.
Courses / Licenses - Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
The current requirements for a CPL (Commercial Pilot License) are:
At least 18 years of age
Theory exams passed
Valid PPL/ICAO Lic/SAAF
Valid night rating
200 hours Total Time (max 20 hours approved FSTD)
100 hours PIC
20 hours PIC X-Country
300nm PIC X-Country with 2 away full-stop landings
Flight Test with DFE I or II within 36 months of exams and 30 days of last dual, and 3 hours PIC in prev 6 months
(Flight Test: As per SA-CATS-FCL 61, shall be conducted in an aeroplane with variable pitch propeller(s), adjustable flaps and retractable undercarriage and knowledge and interpretation of Met reports, CAR and CATS, NOTAM, AIP and AICs.)
